BBK: Concept Ideas 'Binocular' by The Family Rain (2014)

The Family Rain "Binocular" - Unofficial Fan-Made Video

Narrative: The Narrative of the lyrics follows the story of a stalker discussing his view from his binoculars, "Living by the binocular". Due to this I would like to use an amplified representation of the man’s problems as he seeks out a woman which he has fallen in love with comparing the reality to his own feeling expressed through his view within the binoculars.
Location: For location I would imagine a multiple location video based on the 'following' theme of the lyrics to express that the character would follow her to the end of the earth. Location ideas might include the beach, fields, the women's house and street outside, and other obscure locations viewed through the binoculars.
Performance: Many of the bands videos include their performance, to stick with this theme I would feel that the band could be seen performing in the background of the narrative taking place rather than cutting away.
Characters: Characters would most likely include the stalker, the girl he is following and perhaps her boyfriend to create conflict.
Costume and Props: I would imagine the stalker to be dressed alternatively to mainstream culture and appearing to be an odd, or totally opposing this, the stalker may be completely normal in appearance to allow the audience to relate to them. The girl I would imagine to wear perhaps vintage clothing and styles making her stand out. The props would centrally include the binoculars as a central motif to the video, other props may include a car and other household objects perhaps a picnic set up for scenes within a field.
Colour: Colour schemes in Family Rain videos often include a faint purple filter however even if we weren't to use this I would think some sort of visual theme throughout the video would be effective for the style of their music.
Post Production: Post production effects could be used to produce binocular view effects.
