4.	MS	0.37-0.40	The two girls go into the toilet together, furthering the connotation of privacy. They pass several posters and stickers on the wall, used by The Family Rain. Perhaps a subliminal advertisement
5.	CU	0.40-0.43	The subject matter is revealed; a glowing container
6.	CU	0.44	Shot shows the expression of the brunette girl. She is anxious but excited
7.	CU	0.45-0.46	The blonde girl takes the pills out of the container and puts them onto her hand. It now becomes obvious to the audience that what the girls are doing is illegal
8.	CU	0.46	The blonde girl pops the pill into her mouth, excitedly
9.	CU	0.47-0.48	The brunette girl also puts the pill into her mouth, messing around in doing so, connoting that she is having fun
10.	CU	0.48-0.50	Both girls look at each other, this time swaying. They are still enjoying themselves, although they are now feeling the effects of the drugs they have taken
11.	CU	0.50-0.52	The blonde girl sways with her head back, connoting ecstasy (the feeling, not the drug)
12.	CU	0.52-0.53	The brunette girl smiles with her eyes closed, looking rather chilled as floating stars appear around her

14.	MS	0.57-1.00	he brunette girl dopily puts her hand out towards a complete stranger
15.	CU	1.00-1.02	The stranger backs away, connoting a sense of fear towards the use of drugs, or a sense of social disapproval
16.	MS	1.02-1.04	The brunette girl follows her friend back onto the dance floor
17.	CU	1.04-1.05	The camera slows down, replicating the feeling of the drug
18.	CU	1.05-1.11	The brunette girl stands swaying as the colours from the lights on the dance floor appear on her face
19.	CU	1.11-1.15	The girl makes her way out of the club, passing three men, who happen to be the members of The Family Rain. This again is a subliminal advertisement for the band

21.	MS	1.18-1.20	The brunette girl is now out on the street, on the phone to someone
22.	MS	1.20-1.22	Jump cut to her slightly further forwards, still on the phone, but swinging on a lamp post

25.	MS	1.25-1.28	Cuts to her falling at the foot of the lamp post, dropping her phone. Showing the first negative effects of the drugs

27.	LS	1.32-1.36	Her boyfriend/friend runs into the scene and puts his coat around her. This perhaps plays on the dominant ideology of a man saving "the damsel in distress"
28.	MS	1.36-1.38	Jump cuts to the man kissing his girlfriend
29.	MS	1.38-1.39	Jump cuts to the man lifting his girlfriend up and carrying her away
30.	CU	1.39-1.41	Cuts to the man in a car, seemingly driving the girl back home
31.	MS	1.41-1.42	Cuts to the back of the car, where the girl is seen to be hallucinating blue smoke around her

33.	MS	1.44-1.46	Cuts to the back of the car as the girl lashes forwards and grabs her boyfriend, distracting him from driving

40.	LS	1.54-1.56	She then runs into the building that transpires to be an underpass. The building is lit with green/yellowy light, looking mysterious
41.	MS	1.56-1.57	She then walks down the stairs into the underpass, connoting her route down through taking the drugs

 

• I feel this piece offers a good understanding of what I'd like to achieve in our piece. The story follows one character, as does ours, and offers a range of shot movements and angles that we'd be able to experiment with
• However, as a group, we have decided to take our main directorial inspiration from Wes Anderson, who is more fond of still and stable shots in his compositions. This would perhaps be too contrasting
• When looking at lighting, it make be worth noting that the bright colours used in the dance floor scene could be used in our piece as a clear indicator for when the main character is wearing the Binoculars, and when he is not, just as the two girl's moods and actions changed when they took the pills
